Watson Ramsbottom Solicitors are looking to recruit a hardworking and enthusiastic solicitor or legal executive within our nationally renowned domestic abuse, children and stalking department. Candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and awareness of children law, relevant legislation and have experience of conducting their own advocacy.

A full driving licence and car is essential as is an ability to deal with complex and sometimes distressing cases. You must remain up to date with any changes to legislation, stay compliant with best practices, maintain up to date time record of work done and billing, maintain CPD requirements in accordance with Law Society regulations.

The Role
Watson Ramsbottom Solicitors are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hard-working administrator/receptionist for our office in Great Harwood. This role will have a number of different facets from welcoming clients, to dealing with calls on our busy reception desk, dealing with incoming & outgoing post and a variety of other administrative tasks. Candidates should ideally have worked within a legal or similar environment and have therefore developed a high level of customer service skills/abilities.

The Role
To provide cost effective legal and administrative support to the director and other senior fee earners in the team in the work of the department.
Key tasks
Undertake certain elements of fee earning work under supervision. In particular:
– preparation of court bundles.
– taking instructions from clients where appropriate.
attendance at routine directions/interlocutory hearings;
completion of online legal applications.The jobholder is not designated as a matter handler for file review purposes and does not therefore have their own file caseload.
Deal wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications.
Manage the collation of matter start and matter completion data and prepare all claims for costs, referring major matters to costs clerk by agreement with director/fee-earner.
Deputise for fee-earner in their absence, passing urgent issues to another senior fee earner for guidance when necessary.
Co-ordination of the key dates reminder system as outlined in the office manual.
Candidate Requirements:
Basic knowledge of law and legal procedures (minimum LLB qualified)
Communication (Telephone, in writing and face to face)
Good organisation
Excellent time management
A professional, but approachable manner
