Carters Solicitors & Watson Ramsbottom celebrate 5 years of successful partnership.
The start of September marks 5 years since Carters Solicitors in Pontefract became part of Watson Ramsbottom.
In the middle of the Covid epidemic, Anne Caswell made what she considers was probably the most significant decision of her working life. Most of her staff were furloughed, and in between witnessing Wills in clients’ gardens and being stopped by the police who wanted to know where she was going, Anne was holding meetings with Watson Ramsbottom.
Faced with a new employer, colleagues who were uncertain about the future, not to mention unfamiliar systems of working, Anne did sometimes wonder what she’d done. 5 years on and Anne has no doubt it was the right decision.
Managing Director Elton Ashworth & Director Anne Caswell had a few words to say on this milestone below…
Anne Caswell
Director & Solicitor
“I was finding it increasingly difficult to manage Carters on my own and I knew that things would only get harder. Fortunately, Carters was a solid little Yorkshire firm, well respected in Pontefract and staffed by great people. Just what Watson Ramsbottom was looking for.
“I had the good fortune to be introduced to Elton (as it was lockdown it was the first zoom meeting for us both) and the rest, as they say, is history.
“Thank you, Watson Ramsbottom, for having faith in my firm and me.”
Elton Ashworth
Managing Director & Solicitor
“As we celebrate 5 years since Carters Solicitors joined the Watson Ramsbottom family, I am delighted how we have overcome the challenges of what was our first acquisition in our recent growth and Anne’s bold decision to join forces with us during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic .
I remember meeting Anne for the first time both on my debut Teams meeting then when Phillip and I took the drive over to West Yorkshire to meet her for the first time. Our first impression of Anne was exactly right, a really genuine hard-working solicitor that shared the Watson Ramsbottom ethos and values. We knew we’d found the right one straight away.
I’d like to thank Anne for her courage and trust in the stranger from Blackburn and the WR team, we’ve not only weathered that storm, grown the existing Carters team in Pontefract but have also been able to expand our reach with the opening of a new Carters Solicitors site in Delph in 2024.
“I and everyone at Watson Ramsbottom are proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I want to thank Anne for her trust in us. As we look to the future, I am excited to see what the next chapter holds for Carters Solicitors and Watson Ramsbottom, I’m sure it will be exciting ”
