As Christmas approaches, at Watson Ramsbottom we’re thinking of those children who Santa may not visit.
Women’s refuges provide support to women at times they need it most. We have several in our local area, all of which are assisting women and children escaping domestic abuse.
Often, the women and children in refuge flee their homes urgently and with very little belongings with them. As such, Christmas can be a difficult and emotional time.
Led by Kalya in our Family Department, we want to take this additional pressure off those affected in this way, and ensure that every child in our local women’s refuge receives a present without exception.
HOW YOU CAN HELP…
We’re looking for donations of new (not second hand), unwrapped toys, gifts, books for children aged from new born up to 16 years.
We will also gladly accept any gifts or toiletries, pyjamas, cosmetics we can give to the women as well as their children.
We do also support a small men’s refuge, so a few male gifts are welcome too.
Please be mindful of these children’s situations and therefore anything triggering such as police toys/handcuffs/guns etc should be avoided.

Please however ensure these reach us on or before Tuesday 9th December.
