We were following Blackburn Rovers’ recent game against Nottingham Forest and noticed a tweet appear from a supporter exclaiming it to be the Worst. Day. Ever.
Rovers had just conceded a stoppage time Joe Lolley goal, recording a 1-0 defeat at home against a struggling Forest side, but whilst disappointing, this surely wouldn’t comprise the worst day ever for any Rovers fan. We sat through the Steve Kean days too, we know!
Concerned, we looked a little closer. Owen (@the_owen_w) had washed his favourite rovers kit ready for the game, but something hadn’t gone to plan and… well… this happened.
Being based in Canada, and it no longer being the mid 1990s, we figured sourcing a replacement kit wouldn’t be the easiest task for Owen, and this could have left him unable to wear his Rovers colours for the foreseeable.
So we thought….
Whilst we couldn’t get a direct replacement, we figured this year’s shirt is better anyway – it has Watson Ramsbottom on the back. So we got in touch with our friends at Ewood Park, and a couple of DMs to Canada to attain size and address details later, we had one of this year’s shirts at our office and ready to go. A quick letter to accompany this and away it went.
After what felt like forever, we received confirmation this had been delivered. Just in time for Owen to wear whilst watching Saturday’s 3-1 victory over QPR with his family.
A delighted Owen took to twitter to say ‘Can’t thank @WRSolicitors and @Rovers enough for coming through with an amazing replacement kit for me. Well done! #gotyourback’
Well Owen, we hope it brings you some happiness and helps you in supporting Rovers from afar. And we’ve now, quite literally, #GotYourBack
