Sophia said of her appointment: “To become a Trustee of an organisation which makes such a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable people in our local area is an honour. The centre has a number of fantastic people working to make a real difference and I’m looking forward to working with the other heads and trustees”.

The Wish Centre commented “The Wish Centre is pleased to welcome Sophia Isa to the Board of Trustees. Sophia is an Associate Solicitor who specialises in cases involving disputes in respect of living and contact arrangements for children and has enjoyed a growing practice in international children law cases.

Sophia represents clients who are survivors of domestic abuse and has particular expertise in cases of forced marriage and female genital mutilation. She has acted in cases where there have been allegations of parental alienation and has worked with people with a history of drug and alcohol misuse.

Her knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm will certainly enhance the team.”

Sophia joins an established team of seven trustees, who collectively determine the strategic direction for the organisation and, with the CEO, seek to ensure its long term sustainability.

Sophia’s position as Trustee will be carried out in addition to her existing role as an Associate Solicitor at Watson Ramsbottom. Clients can be assured that her current capacity will not be affected by her new role.
