The number of specialist accreditations within the Watson Ramsbottom family law team has increased again recently with another of our family law solicitors having been awarded the prestigious resolution accredited specialism in domestic violence and children.
Michelle Whitaker, a Solicitor who lives in the Ribble Valley, has been with Watson Ramsbottom Solicitors since she left University in 2002. Michelle, based at the firm’s Blackburn office, has worked almost exclusively within the domestic abuse and children department and is highly thought of for her work in these areas often dealing with very serious allegations of torture and physical and sexual violence.

The nationally recognised Resolution accreditation is given to specialists who have submitted themselves to a rigorous assessment to demonstrate the highest levels of knowledge, practical application of the law and best practice.
Resolution specialists are proven experts in a range of areas of the law arising from family breakdown.
Michelle commented “I’m very pleased to have obtained the specialist recognition of the resolution certificate and want to continue my work with Watson Ramsbottom helping clients who are at crisis point as I find the work extremely rewarding”.
Rachel Horman, head of domestic violence and forced marriage said “I am so proud of Michelle who has worked tirelessly over the years helping countless numbers of women and children and I believe that she has saved the lives of several.
Michelle has always been very highly regarded within the firm and the award recognises this knowledge and experience in a formal way”.
Director Rachel Horman heads up one of the only departments of its kind in the North West. Rachel received the National Family Legal aid Lawyer of the Year Award in 2012 in recognition of the groundbreaking work of the department in this area.
