Watson Ramsbottom are delighted to announce that we’ve teamed up with Sam Bloomfield, the starting quarterback & captain of the Great Britain American Football team.
Sam plays for the Manchester Titans who are the current champions, whilst also representing team GB at national level.
Outside of his love for the sport, Sam also works for Wigan Council & is head coach of the American Football team at UCLan
Unfortunately, due to the sport being considered a ‘minority sport’ by the UK government, it does not receive any government funding, so this is where we have stepped in to help Sam!
We spoke to Sam and got a few words on our partnership…

“When I reached out to a community group looking for support, I really wasn’t expecting to get much back as I know how difficult it is right now for everyone. But to my surprise, Jonny from Watson Ramsbottom got in touch quickly and was keen to help me however he could. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the backing of Watson Ramsbottom, who are known for their community work, supporting others, such as Blackburn Rovers & England U20’s Ice Hockey. The support they’ve given to me is a huge weight off my shoulders and has enabled me to focus solely on preparing for our fixture against Denmark on the 28th October”.
“This game is the biggest fixture the GB Lions have had in many years and the preparation required for international fixtures is no small task. With a great team and incredible support from Watson Ramsbottom, I feel confident I can put my best foot (or arm) forward and come back with a win.”
How Our Sponsorship will help
Our sponsorship will provide Sam with some assistance in paying for some of his expenses (Travel costs, gym memberships, plane tickets & hotels) whilst representing The Great Britain team.

Sam & Team GB travel to Denmark for a match on Saturday 28th October.
Where can I catch a game?
You can catch Sam & The Manchester Titans all over the UK, however, the home games are played at the National Speedway Stadium in Gorton, Manchester.
