Head of the domestic violence and forced marriage department Rachel Horman was recently interviewed on the BBC breakfast show (see clip below) regarding proposals to introduce a criminal offence of Domestic Abuse. Rachel has been campaigning for a change in the law for many years. Currently there is no criminal offence of domestic violence or domestic abuse and neither can emotional abuse nor coercive control currently be prosecuted. The new law would change this.
