The likelihood is that you have probably heard or read the nursery rhyme about Old Mother Hubbard and her cupboard:
Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the cupboard
To get her poor doggie a bone,
When she got there
The cupboard was bare
So the poor little doggie had none.
Sadly this was also the case at The WISH Centre and other Lancashire Domestic Abuse Refuges, they were struggling to keep a well filled emergency food cupboard. So Kalya, Trainee Solicitor here at Watson Ramsbottom, stepped in to help.
Kalya organised a food collection at our Blackburn office and the end result was a car boot filled with items the WISH Centre had been getting desperately short of. Both WISH Centre staff and families were extremely appreciative and we aim to continue to do everything we can, given our fortunate position, to make their already stressful time that little bit easier.
The WISH Centre like to be able to offer a welcome package for families coming into Lancashire Refuges to give them one less thing to worry about.
The WISH Centre is often the first point of contact for people in Blackburn with Darwen who are experiencing domestic abuse.
